help me twice...
« on: February 12, 2003, 11:23:00 PM »
well, it seems that the <br>, <img> and <href> tags do not work... On my blog, I can see that the tag, for example if I put a word in bold with the adequate tag <b>example</b>, there's no effect: the text displays <b>example</b>, just like that...
the same happens if I try to put an image: I see the tag and not the image.

thank you...

Could you please provide me with a link to your blog? I need to see this in action to see what you are talking about and what the cause is ...

I have the same problem using Blogger, tags are not resolved properly. Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance. Great software!  :D

Same answer as before - could you provide me with a link to your site and a specific page where tags are not being resolved properly? The last user with the question never got back to me ... :p

Here you have the page: http://musicraider.blogspot.com. In 10 May, Sat. post you can see three examples at the beginning and at the end of the post.

Hmm ... it looks as if that for some reason the angle bracket HTML code has been inserted by (I assume) BlogMan instead of the anglebracket itself  ... Since this doesn't seem to happen with MT (which I use with BlogMan) I can only assume that this is some sort of an anamoly in the operations between BlogMan and Blogger. Let me try to look into this though I am not sure how much help I could be .. However, could you go back the days with those entries in BlogMan and see if you have the angle brackets around the bold and italic tags or the HTML code for the angle brackets? Maybe I'm not being very clear here but if I tried to type out what I mean, I'd probably get it all messed up :p So hopefully you understand what I mean ...

Sorry, since It's only a couple of days that I am using BlogMan so I don't have examples. I have tried to include &lt; and &gt; characters in posts but still does not work (I found this suggestion in In BloggerDev yahoogroup).

More things: In http://www.xmlrpc.com/spec is stated that strings are allowed except < and &, which are parsed to &lt; and &amp;. I wonder if this is related to this issue. The workaround for this could be base64 encodings, but this seems not to be supported by Blogger API (only string is allowed in newPost method).

I have tried with one implementation of a client using Bloger API, named BlogBuddy. It resolves well bold and italic HTML tags, so maybe a solution could be look at the implementation (unfortunately I don't know Delphi).

One last thing:It is supposed to appear a new Blogger API 2.0 release (http://www.dynamicobjects.com/d2r/archives/001921.html). Maybe this release will solve this issue.

Nothing more by now, I hope this helps.
