"Blocked" Quotes
« on: July 07, 2003, 07:05:51 PM »
This suggestion got deleted, so I'm reposting it.

The only problem that I found with Cee was that you can't do "block deletes", you have to do one delete at a time. Why is this a problem? Because after loading the sample set of quotes (just to see how Cee works), it takes a long time to delete them and then insert your own. The solution I'm suggesting here is one that also adds functionality to the program.

When a file full of quotes is imported, why not ask that block to be "named" by user input. Thereafter, those quotes are grouped together under that name. A delete option would be to delete all quotes in a named block (with confirmation of course). Also, each block could be set (maybe also by command line option) as ON or OFF. Blocks that were set to OFF wouldn't be selected for quotation, whereas those set to ON would.

That way, you could have a different mix of quotes depending upon what you wanted.
